About The Cocoon of Comfort

Hello, and welcome! My name is Rachael Stairs, I am the creator of The Cocoon of Comfort Mobile Massage Studio. I'm so excited you've found my website! I'd love to share a little information about myself and share my passion and vision of what not only massage, but mobile massage has meant to me. 

Massage has been a career change, and quite frankly a lifestyle change for me as well! Massage has educated me and given me new perspective on health in so different ways. When I first had the idea of becoming a massage therapist, I had no idea I would sincerely fall in love with the therapy and the passion I would develop by simply helping people feel better. 

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Bluefield College in 2015 but never truly felt fulfilled with my career path. I spent several years working different jobs in my field trying to discover a true enthusiasm for my work. All while working, I continued to travel, bartend, and enjoying my hobbies of camping, hiking, mountain biking, and improving my fitness journey. 

In 2021, I graduated from Lotus School of Integrated Professions and attained my license to practice massage. While going to school during COVID, the hands on hours we could practice working with the general public were limited. I did not get a lot of hands on time with 'strangers' until after I graduated. It was then the doors opened and I realized my love for my newfound career. I learned just how healing and therapeutic touch can be. By relieving pain, helping to healing injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and overall aiding in the general wellness of the body. The benefits are really endless!

Attending massage therapy school during COIVD was challenging, but I am thankful for those challenges because I believe it contributed to the concept of my studio. In fall of 2022, I purchased a 7x14 utility trailer and with the help of my Bonus Dad, Dennis, I was able to transform this idea of a traveling massage studio into a reality. 

It is my goal to bring the security, comfort, and convenience of a massage studio straight to you! I hope to be an asset to sporting events, provide chair massages at corporate events, bring a unique addition to wedding activities, show appreciation to medical and education professions, and much, much more!
